Sunday Sports Update: Kildare Hurlers and Women's Footballers In Action Today.

The Kildare hurlers will be hoping to get their first win of this year’s Allianz National Hurling League Division 2A this afternoon.

They’re down in Austin Stack Park, Tralee to play Kerry, with a throw-in time of 12.30pm.

Kfm will have live rolling updates with Seamus Dillon.

The Kildare team has been named and is as follows.

In goal: Paddy McKenna (Clane)

Full backs: Michael Hogan (Maynooth), Tom Finnerty (Celbridge), Cathal Derivan (Leixlip)

Half backs: Sean Christianseen (Clane), Mark Delaney (Coill Dubh), Paul Dolan (Eire Og Corrachoill)

RUGBY

Ireland's next match is in two weeks time at home to Italy.

The Italians are in action today.

They welcome England to Rome, where kick-off is at 3pm.

SOCCER

Liverpool will look to close the gap to Premier League leaders Manchester City to nine points this afternoon.

Jurgen Klopp's side visit Turf Moor for a meeting with bottom club Burnley at 2pm.

Elsewhere, it's Newcastle against Aston Villa, while Tottenham host Wolves.

From half-four, out-of-form Leicester take on European hopefuls West Ham at the King Power Stadium.

Celtic will look to keep their hopes of a Scottish Cup title alive today.

They welcome Raith Rovers to Parkhead at 4pm for a fifth-round tie.

Locally, Athy Town play Pike Rovers of Limerick in the last 32 of the FAI Junior Cup.

Kick off in Aldridge Park is at 2pm.

Athy are the last remaining Kildare team in the competition.

Yesterday, Prosperous United u16s were beaten 2-0 by Clare’s Bridge United in the last 32 of the SFAI Cup.

RACING

There's a seven-race card at Punchestown this afternoon, where the first is off at 1.40.
