Three Kildare Players Included In Republic Of Ireland Squad For Latvia & France Games.

Mark Travers, Nathan Collins and Andrew Omobamidele have all received call ups.

Mikey Johnston's been included in Stephen Kenny's Republic of Ireland squad for this month's games against Latvia and France.

The Celtic winger - on loan at Vitoria Guimaraes - was cleared by FIFA to switch allegiance from Scotland last week.

Three Kildare players have been included and they are Maynooth's Mark Travers and Leixlip duo Nathan Collins and Andrew Omobamidele.

Despite picking up a knock playing for Norwich this week Adam Idah is included, seeking his first minutes in Green since November 2021.

Jason Knight and Will Keane are in the 26-player squad after missing the November games through injury.

Shane Duffy and Enda Stevens are injured while Conor Hourihane, Robbie Brady and Ryan Manning have all been overlooked.

The European Championships qualifying campaign gets underway with the visit of France to the Aviva Stadium on Monday week.

Before that, Latvia come to Dublin for a friendly next Wednesday.

Defenders: Seamus Coleman (Everton), Matt Doherty (Atletico Madrid), Andrew Omobamidele (Norwich City), Nathan Collins (Wolverhampton Wanderers), John Egan (Sheffield United), Dara O'Shea (West Bromwich Albion), Callum O'Dowda (Cardiff City), James McClean (Wigan Athletic).

Midfielders: Josh Cullen (Burnley), Jayson Molumby (West Bromwich Albion), Jeff Hendrick (Reading), Alan Browne (Preston North End), Jason Knight (Derby County), Will Smallbone (Stoke City, on loan from Southampton), Jamie McGrath (Dundee United), Mark Sykes (Bristol City).
