Blessington's Louise Quinn expected to feature in tomorrow's game against France

The Republic of Ireland women's team face their final fixture tonight before going to Australia for the World Cup Finals.

They play France at Tallaght Stadium tonight from 8pm and then fly out tomorrow.

Blessington’s Louise Quinn and Kill’s Hayley Nolan are in contention for a spot.

France are ranked fifth in the world and coached by the former Zambia, Ivory Coast and Saudi Arabia boss Herve Renard.

In transfer news, Arsenal have agreed a 38.5 million pounds deal with Ajax for 22 year old Netherlands defender Jurrien Timber.

Tottenham are reported to have offered England captain Harry Kane a new contract.

The striker has one year left on his remaining deal and is understood to be a target of Bayern Munich.

Manchester United are believed to have made a bid of over 40 million euro for Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana, which has been rejected by the Italian club.

 



GOLF

Cavan's Leona Maguire and Clare's Aine Donegan are the Irish players in the field for the Women's US Open, which starts later today at Pebble Beach in California.

Maguire is bidding to put her US PGA disappointment behind her, when she lost a 54 hole lead.

On the PGA Tour, Seamus Power is in the line up for the John Deere Classic.

John Murphy is the Irish representative in the Made in Himmerland event on the DP World Tour.

The lead is held in Denmark by local favourite Rasmus Hojgaard on 3 under par.
