Kildare lost out to Dublin last night in the Electric Ireland Leinster minor football champions for the second year running.

They were beaten by 19 points to 2-8 at O'Moore Park.

The Quarter-Finals of the All Ireland will take place on Saturday 10th June in UPMC Nowlan Park.

Kildare will play the winners of Munster. Cork v Kerry (Fri 2nd June)..

SOCCER

Sevilla have won the Europa League for a seventh time.

They defeated Jose Mourinho's Roma 4-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in Budapest last night.

After the game, Mourninho confronted English referee Anthony Taylor in a car park to remonstrate with his decisions.


Here at home, Wexford Youths and Cork City played out a 1-1 draw in the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division.


The FAI are reported to have cleared a debt to sports retail group Sports Direct with the company's sponsorship of the men's and women's FAI Cups for the next three years as part of the arrangement.

The Irish Independent reports that the FAI owed Sports Direct 6 and a half million euro dating back to when John Delaney was CEO of the Association - which Sports Direct was allowed to demand repayment of as part of the terms of a previous sponsorship deal agreed in 2016.

It's understood the current FAI executive has cleared these liabilities in full with a 3 and a half million euro payment, the sponsorship agreement and a small write down of the sum owed to Sports Direct.


Mason Mount is set to join Manchester United from Chelsea after the England midfielder agreed personal terms with the Red Devils.

Chelsea have also given permission for Manchester City to speak to their midfielder Mateo Kovacic.
