SWIMMING

Today's morning session is underway at the European Aquatics Championships in Paris.

Denis O'Brien, Cormac Rynn and Liam Custer have completed their heats in the men's 200-metres freestyle, with Evan Bailey still to come.

Fresh from her silver medal last night, Mona McSharry is in the women's 200-metres breaststroke heats, as is Ellie McCartney.

Alana Burns-Atkin goes in the women's 100-metres butterfly.

John Shortt is in the men's 50-metres backstroke heats.

Last night, Ellen Walshe claimed a gold in the women's 400-metres individual medley.

ATHLETICS

In the European Athletics Championships, Rhasidat Adeleke is well-placed for a medal in the women's 200-metres final this evening.

She's due on the track in Birmingham at 9:50pm this evening.

Before that, Mark English goes in the men's 800-metres final, which is down for decision just before 9:30pm.

This morning, Sean Aigboboh and Marcus Lawler go in round one of the men's 200-metres just after 11am.

Sophie Becker has a women's 400-metres semi-final just after 12:45pm.

While in last night's action, Nicola Tuthill earned her best finish at a senior championships, coming fifth in the women's hammer throw.

SOCCER

It's advantage Shamrock Rovers, ahead of the second leg of their Europa League qualifier against KF Egnatia.

They're 3-1 up heading to Albania tonight.

A win would guarantee at least a place in the Conference League group phase for Stephen Bradley's side.

They would also face Norwegian side Lillestrom in the playoff for Europe's second tier.

Kick off is at 8 o'clock - Irish time.

In the Conference League qualifiers, Bohemians need to overturn a 2-0 deficit against Midtjylland.

The return leg is underway in Denmark at 6pm.

Shelbourne will be hoping to make home advantage count against Dutch giants Ajax.

John Russell's side are 3-1 down from the first leg in Amsterdam last week.

That tie resumes at Tolka Park from 7:45pm.

Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry are in the field for the St Jude Championship in Tennessee today.

It's first playoff event of the PGA Tour's season-ending FedEx Cup.

McIlroy is alongside Scottie Scheffler for his first round, and tees off at 2:30pm.

It's a 4:30pm start for Lowry in Memphis.

Anna Foster is in a share of the early lead at the Swiss Ladies Open this morning.

The Dublin golfer is three-under par through eight holes of her opening round, tied with Austria's Katharina Muehlbauer.

Aine Donegan is one-over through six.

Sara Byrne gets her opening round underway after 1pm, and it's a 2:10pm start for Olivia Mehaffey, with Annabel Wilson out 10 minutes later.

GYMNASTICS

Emma Slevin leads Ireland's challenge on the opening day of the European Gymnastics Championships in Zagreb today.

The women's seniors begin their qualification campaign at around 12:30pm - Irish Time.
