A "back-court" rule is among the new potential rule changes being considered by the GAA's Football Expert Advisory Group.

The proposal would make it illegal for attacking teams to move the ball back into their own half if they had already entered opposition territory.

SOCCER

It's advantage Bohemians in their Conference League qualifier against Ballkani after last night's first leg.

Alan Reynolds' side went a goal down at Dalymount Park, via a first-half penalty from the visitors.

But late goals from Douglas James-Taylor and Ross Tierney leave Bohs 2-1 to the good ahead of going to Kosovo for the return fixture next week.

Two more League of Ireland teams are in Conference League action this evening.

Derry City are away to Croatian side Rijeka in the second qualifying round.

Meanwhile, Shelbourne welcome Kalju of Estonia at Tolka Park in their first European fixture of the season.

Both games get underway at 7:45.

Arsenal will be without William Saliba for an "extended period" after the France defender returned from the World Cup with a back injury.

The Premier League champions say he won't need surgery.

Saliba helped France reach the semi-finals of the tournament in the United States.

Padraig Harrington will begin the defence of his Senior Open title at Gleneagles this morning.

The Dubliner tees off in Scotland at around 9:20, with 2022 winner Darren Clarke out 10 minutes before him.

Three Irish golfers are in action today at the final event before next week's Women's Open.

Leona Maguire is among the morning groupings on Day One of the Scottish Open at Dundonald Links.

She tees off just before 9, with Kill’s Lauren Walsh out on course 20 minutes later.

Anna Foster begins her opening round at around 2 o'clock.

Seamus Power is in action at the PGA Tour's 3M Open today, teeing off in Minnesota at around 7:15.
