GOLF

Anna Foster has just teed off the home challenge at the KPMG Women's Irish Open this morning.

She is the first of a record 16 Irish golfers competing in this week's tournament at the K-Club.

Leona Maguire has been paired with Roscommon amateur Olivia Costello - they're out on course from around 8:20.

Aine Donegan joins Anna Abom and Beth Coulter in an all-Irish grouping setting off at 12:40.

SOCCER

Shamrock Rovers are locked at 1-all with KuPS ahead of the second leg of their Conference League qualifier playoff today.

Stephen Bradley's side are looking to reach the league phase for a third successive season.

They've lost all three of their away legs in this season's European qualifying campaign.

Kick-off in Finland is at 4 o'clock Irish Time.

Republic of Ireland captain Katie McCabe made her debut for Chelsea in their Women's Champions League qualifier last night.

She chipped in with an assist, in a 5-2 first-leg win over Real Sociedad.

Kyra Carusa got the winner for Koege in their 1-0 win over PSV Eindhoven.

Newcastle United left it late to get past West Brom in the English League Cup last night.

Goals from Harvey Barnes and Bazoumana Toure  saw them defeat the Baggies 3-2.

Tottenham also advanced, beating Charlton 5-1, while Everton got the better of Preston 4-0.

Burnley were knocked out by Bradford on penalties.

The second round concludes this evening, with Chelsea and Luton Town squaring off from 7:30. 

Then at 8, it's Fulham up against AFC Wimbledon.

CRICKET

The new European-wide T20 league will get underway this morning. 

The Belfast Wolves take on the Dublin Guardians at Voorburg Cricket Club in the Netherlands. 

That game is set for a 9:30 start.

ROWING

The Men's four team are the first in the water for Ireland on Day Four at the World Rowing Championships. 

They go in the C Final in Amsterdam from half-1. 

The women's four are then in the semi-finals just before half-2. 

The women's quadruple sculls team are also in semi-final action around 15 minutes later.
