Tuesday Lunch: Leixlip's Nathan Collins Could Feature For Wolves In Tonight

And 5 Kildare hurlers nominated for Christy Ring Cup team of the year

Christy Ring Cup champions Kildare have five players represented on the GAA’s hurling Christy Ring/Rackard/Meagher team of the year.

Goalie Paddy McKenna, defenders Rian Boran & Paul Divilly (both previously honoured in 2020), forwards Brian Byrne & James Burke.

The late Tyrone hurling star Damian Casey has been named at wing forward.

The 29 year old tragically passed away last June.

Nominations came from the players who voted for the best performing players from their competition.

The list was then deliberated on by an independent selection committee, to decide the final 15.

The awards will be presented at a gala black-tie banquet in Croke Park this Friday night, where the Joe McDonagh Team of the Year and the Tailteann Cup Football Team of the Year will also be honoured.

This Sunday's LGFA Leinster Championship semi-final between Eadestown & Tinahely of Wicklow will now be played at 1pm, in Eadestown GAA.

KFM will have live updates of the game, on 'Sunday Sportsbeat'.

SOCCER

Republic of Ireland defender, Leixlip's Nathan Collins is available again after suspension, and could feature for Wolves tonight.

Wolves are away to Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Kick off at Selhurst Park is at 8.15pm.

There is one other game this evening as bottom club Nottingham Forest go to Brighton.

There is a 7.30pm start at the AMEX Stadium.

Five Irish boxers have the chance to secure at least bronze medals at the European Elite Women's Championships in Macedonia today.

Carly McNaul has Italian opposition in the form of Olena Savchuk in the quarters of the flyweight division.

Commonwealth gold medallist Michaela Walsh goes up against Romania's Claudia Nechita in the featherweight last-8.

In the evening session, Amy Broadhurst has a light-welterweight quarter-final against Serbian, Milena Matovic.

And in the light middleweight quarter-finals, Christina Desmond faces Hanna Ingrid Hede of Sweden.

There's an eight-race flat card at Gowran Park this afternoon, the going is soft & the first is off at 1.30pm.
