SOCCER

Saudi Arabia have beaten Argentina by 2 goals to 1 in Group C of the World Cup.

Lionel Messi handed Argentina the lead from the penalty spot on 10 minutes and the South Americans had three goals ruled out for offside in the first half.

But Saleh Al-Shehri equalised three minutes into the second half and six minutes later, Salem Al Dawsari's shot found the bottom corner.

The other Group C match today sees Mexico and Poland meet at 4pm, Irish time.

Kamil Glik is set to make his 100th appearance for Poland in that game.

Mexico have reached the knockout phase in their last seven tournaments but have failed to get beyond the last 16.

In Group D, it's Denmark versus Tunisia at 1pm, with Dane Christian Eriksen to play in an international tournament for the first time since his recovery from a cardiac arrest last year.

Also in that Group, defending champions France face Australia at 7pm.

Olivier Giroud is set to replace the injured Karim Benzema up front for 'Les Blues' alongside star striker Kylian Mbappe

Tomorrow, Germany play Japan and Leroy Sane has been ruled out of that match for the Germans because of a knee injury.
