Elsewhere, The Curragh Racecourse will host one of Europe’s most valuable Flat handicaps on September 25.

SOCCER

West Ham defender Kurt Zouma has pleaded guilty to kicking and slapping a cat.

The 27 year old admitted to two offences under the UK Animal Welfare Act.

Zouma's brother, Yoan, who filmed the incident, pleaded guilty to one offence following a RSPCA investigation.

Meanwhile, West Ham have enquired about taking Jesse Lingard back to the London Stadium.

The 29 year old impressed at the club while on loan from Manchester United in 2021.

Lingard fell out of favour at Old Trafford under Ralf Rangnick.

New Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag says he has a blueprint for the club's future.

The Dutch native has given his first press conference since leaving Ajax to join the Red Devils.

United finished sixth in the Premier League table, 35 points behind champions Manchester City.

Ten Hag is confident there can be significant improvement on that mark.

BOXING

Luke Maguire has advanced to the last 16 on day 2 of the Men's European Championships in Armenia.

The Dubliner claimed a 5-0 win over Poland's Daniel Piotrowski in the Light Middlewieght Division.

Belfast's Dylan Eagleson takes on Turkey's Muhammet Sacli in the last 16 of the Bantamweight division.

And Kilkenny Light Welterweight Brandon McCarthy's last 32 bout is this afternoon against England's Joseph Tyers.

HORSE RACING

There's a meeting over jumps today at Punchestown, where the first is off at 1.20.

A flat fixture at Gowran Park goes to post at 4.50.

The Curragh Racecourse will host one of Europe’s most valuable Flat handicaps on September 25.

The Friends of the Curragh Irish Cesarewitch will carry a prize fund of €600,000.

The two-mile Flat handicap will start from starting stalls and will be open to three-year-olds and older horses
