St. Pat's remain six points adrift of Shamrock Rovers with five games to go in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division

St Patrick's Athletic missed the chance to close the gap on SSE Airtricity League Premier Division leaders Shamrock Rovers last night.

Dayle Rooney's superb second half goal gave Drogheda United a 2-1 win at Richmond Park.

Pat's remain six points adrift of Shamrock Rovers with five games to go.

Elsewhere, Bohemians and Shelbourne played out a 1-all draw while Dundalk beat Cork City 5-0.

In the First Division, Wexford were 2-0 winners over Longford Town and champions Galway United beat Finn Harps 1-0.

Republic of Ireland interim women's team manager Eileen Gleeson has a full squad to choose from for this evening’s Nations League meeting with Hungary.

The Girls in Green are bidding for their second win in the group, having overcome Northern Ireland last Saturday.

Kick-off is at 6.30.

Half-an-hour later in the same group, Northern Ireland play Albania.
