Australia's Victoria state has withdrawn as host of the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Its premier, Daniel Andrews, says the 12-day tournament will cost too much money.

They'd initially budgeted 1-point-4 billion pounds to stage the event in five regional cities - but he claims recent estimates put the potential cost as high as 3-point-7 billion.

Organisers have called the decision "hugely disappointing".
