Manchester United are expected to appoint Michael Carrick as interim manager by the end of the day.

The club is hoping to finalise the appointment before players return for training tomorrow ahead of their Premier League meeting with Manchester City this weekend.
The first of the English League Cup semi-finals takes place tonight.

The return leg takes place in three weeks time.
Arsenal and Chelsea are on the other side of the draw, with those two teams set to meet tomorrow night.
