Defending champions Shamrock Rovers are just a point off the summit, after a 3-2 win at home to Shelbourne.

Galway United produced a stunning comeback from two goals down to defeat Drogheda United 3-2.

Derry City are now six games without a win, after being held to a scoreless draw at Sligo Rovers.

 

Coventry need just four more points to return to the Premier League for the first time since 2001.

The Championship leaders were held to a goalless draw at Hull last night.

 

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says striker Viktor Gyokeres is excited to face former club Sporting in the quarter-finals of the Champions League this evening.

The Sweden international spent two seasons in Lisbon, winning the league title twice before moving to north London last summer.

This evening's first leg gets underway in Portugal at 8pm.

RUGBY

Soldier In Milan secured victory in the Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse yesterday.

The Emmet Mullins-trained runner produced a late surge after the final fence to pull clear and win comfortably by several lengths.

Later in the card, Clonmeen caused a surprise in the penultimate race, finishing ahead of Killaney King.
