There was two games last night in the UPMC hurling championships

In the intermediate it finished Naas 7-23 Maynooth 0-11.

In Reserve A Semi-final Éire Óg Chorra Choill 4-18, Ardclough 0-11.

 

SOCCER

Arsenal made it two wins from two in their Premier League title defence last night.

Bukayo Saka provided the goal, as the Gunners were 1-0 winners away to Aston Villa.

It's the fifth season in a row that Arsenal have started the league with back-to-back wins,

 

Premier League clubs will have until 11pm this evening to wrap up any last-minute transfer deals.

Manchester City have agreed a reported fee of 65-million-pounds for Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye.

 

Spurs had been the frontrunner to sign the Senegal international - they're now in talks to sign Mikhailo Mudryk from Chelsea.

While Australia's Alex De Minaur is among the late starters at the Grandstand - he's up against Italy's Andrea Guerrieri.

While in the women's singles, second seed Elena Rybakina faces home opposition in the form of Thea Frodin.

While Mirra Andreeva takes on Janice Tjen.

 

CYCLING

Ireland's Eddie Dunbar will enter today's 10th stage of La Vuelta a Espana from 49th overall.

Enric Mas leads the general classification, having taken the red jersey on Sunday.

He's one minute and eighteen seconds ahead of next best Primoz Roglic.

Today, the riders will a hilly 184 kilometre stretch from Alcaraz to Elche de la Sierra.
