Tuesday Morning Sports Update

Keeping you up to date soccer, rugby and racing.

SOCCER

There are three games down for decision in the Premier League tonight.

From half seven, Everton play Bournemouth and Fulham host Manchester City.

A win for City at Craven Cottage would see them move to within two points of league leaders Arsenal.

From 8.15, Newcastle play Tottenham at St James' Park.

Birmingham extended their winning streak at St Andrews to four matches with a 2-1 victory against Watford in the Championship last night.

Tonight, Blackburn play Ipswich.

RUGBY

South Africa's Eben Etz-e-beth will learn his fate today after his red card against Wales last weekend.

The Sharks lock will go before a disciplinary panel after being dismissed for an apparent eye gouge on Alex Mann towards the end of the Springboks 73-nil win in Cardiff.

He could receive anything from a four-week to a 12-week suspension - or longer for a top-end offence - though his clean record and a reported apology may help reduce any sanction.

RACING

Racing will proceed at Clonmel today after the track passed an early morning inspection.

The ground remains heavy, with the first race off at 12:05pm.
