Wednesday Lunch: St. Conleth’s Redevelopment To Commence In 2023

Hawkfield's Centre of Excellence has been awarded a grant of €60,000 from Croke Park

Kildare GAA's County Board's November meeting was held in St. Conleth's Park last night.

Chairman, Mick Gorman, confirmed a grant of €60,000 had been received from Croke Park, for development work on Hawkfield's Centre of Excellence in Hawkfield.

The Works are expected to be carried out over the coming months.

The development of St. Conleth's Park, gate receipts and sponsorship deals were also discussed.

Additionally, the management teams for the four Kildare underage intercounty teams were ratified.

They include two football and two hurling teams, with three of last year's managers returning.

It was also confirmed, the senior footballers & hurlers will return to training on 24th of November.

RUGBY

The Ireland men's 'A' team for Friday's meeting with an All Blacks selection at the RDS will be named later.

A total of 51 players are currently in the Irish camp.

The senior side take on South Africa on Saturday in the first match of the Autumn Nations Series.

A total of 29 players have signed up for the first women's professional contracts with the IRFU.

10 players come from the 15s set-up, but team captain Nichola Fryday is among the absentees from the list.

Enya Breen and Dorothy Wall are among the 15s players to agree deals, with 19 sevens players also included.

The IRFU says the 'contracting process is ongoing'.

SOCCER

Julian Alvarez is set to start for Manchester City tonight as Erling Haaland remains out due to injury.

Pep Guardiola's side take on Sevilla in Group G of the Champions League, with their place in the knockout stage already secure.

Chelsea are also through ahead of their meeting with Dinamo Zagreb in Group E.

Celtic are set to finish bottom of Group F, even if they beat holders Real Madrid.

SNOOKER

Mark Allen is in last-16 action at the Champion of Champions event in Bolton this afternoon.

The Antrim man plays Joe Perry.

Judd Trump faces Luca Brecel in today’s other match, and the winners will play one another in the last-8.

There’s an eight-race card at Dundalk this afternoon, with the first going to post at 2pm.
