SOCCER

This season's Premier League title race will go down to the final day.

Liverpool came from behind to beat Southampton 2-1 at St Mary's last night.

Takumi Minamino and Joel Matip scored the goals for the visitors, after Nathan Redmond handed the Saints an early advantage.

Manager Jurgen Klopp praised his extended squad for their efforts:

The result means Manchester City have a one-point lead heading into Sunday's final round of fixtures.

They're due to play Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa, while Liverpool host Wolves.

Nottingham Forest are one game away from a return to the Premier League.

They beat Sheffield United on penalties last night to qualify for the English Championship play-off final against Huddersfield Town.

The tie finished 3-3 on aggregate after the visitors won 2-1 at the City Ground.

But Forest progressed following a 3-2 victory in the shootout, with Brice Samba saving three efforts.

Republic of Ireland international Conor Hourihane failed to convert the Blades' second spot-kick.

Rangers bid for European glory this evening.

The Scottish Premiership club take on Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League final.

Kick-off in Seville is at 8pm.

GOLF

Tiger Woods says Phil Mickelson's absence from this week's US PGA Championship is "disappointing".

The defending champion is not in the field at Southern Hills, as he continues his break from the game.

Mickelson hasn't appeared on tour since his controversial comments about the Saudi Golf League in February.

Woods has been drawn to play alongside Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth for the opening two rounds in Tulsa.

RACING

There's a seven-race card at Cork this evening, where the first is off at 5.05pm.
