Wednesday Morning Sport: Rangers Lose To Union SG In Champions League Qualifying.

Ireland cricket team face South Africa this evening.

 


SOCCER

Rangers have an uphill task to qualify for the play off round of the Champions League.

They lost 2-nil to Union SG in the first leg of their third qualifying round tie last night.

The return game is at Ibrox next Tuesday.


Shamrock Rovers will have a keen interest in the Champions League qualifier between Qarabag of Azerbaijan and Ferencvaros of Hungary this evening.

If Rovers can overcome Shkupi, they will play the loser of that tie in the play off round of the Europa League.


CRICKET

Ireland face South Africa in a T 20 international in Bristol this evening.


BASEBALL

Legendary sports broadcaster Vin Scully has died at the age of 94.

Scully was the voice of the Dodgers in Brooklyn and Los Angeles for almost seven decades.

He also called baseball for national broadcasters CBS and NBC and covered American Football and Golf.


HORSE RACING

There are seven races on the flat at Sligo today, with the first off at 5.30.
