It's a busy evening ahead in the provincial under-20 Football Championships.

In Leinster, Kildare are at home to Offaly, Louth go to Dublin, with Wexford hosting Westmeath.

Longford play Carlow and Meath take on Laois.
 

SOCCER

The Republic of Ireland rounded off the international window with a scoreless draw at home to North Macedonia at the Aviva Stadium.

There were senior debuts for Stoke City's Bosun Lawal and Watford defender James Abankwah, who came off the bench at Lansdowne Road.

 

Ireland's conquerors Czechia sealed a place at the World Cup finals by overcoming Denmark on penalties in Prague.

Italy failed to qualify for a third World Cup in a row after a penalty shootout defeat by Bosnia-Herzegovina. 

Sweden beat Poland 3-2 to reach the tournament.

Turkey secured a 1-nil victory over Kosovo.

 

Roberto De Zerbi says he's "delighted" to take charge of one of the "most prestigious" clubs in the world in Tottenham.

The Italian's put pen to paper on a five-year contract, and his immediate goal is to keep Spurs in the Premier League.

His new team sit just a point above the drop-zone with seven games to play.

 

GOLF

Tiger Woods has confirmed he will step away from golf for "a period of time" to "seek treatment" following his arrest after a car crash last week.

The 15-time Major winner was arrested and charged with driving under the influence following a collision in Florida on Friday.

He submitted a written plea of not guilty through his lawyers yesterday.

He had previously hinted that he was targeting an appearance at the Masters in Augusta next week.

 

RACING

There's a seven-race card at Dundalk this evening, the first goes to post at 5:15pm.
