GOLF

Proposals for Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods to play in LIV events were part of discussions between the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia and the PGA Tour, it has been revealed.

The PGA Tour rejected the proposals before a partnership was announced between the bodies, the details of which have yet to be ironed out.

The merger is under scrutiny from the United States Senate.

The card at Dundalk begins at 1.55, with the action underway at Fairyhouse at 4.50.
