Wednesday Morning Sports Update

Soccer, rugby and racing action for this morning's sporting update.

SOCCER

Manchester City held on to beat Fulham by five goals to four in the Premier League last night.

Erling Haaland netted his 100th Premier League goal at Craven Cottage, reaching the mark in just 111 games.

Elsewhere, Cristian Romero scored a 95th minute equaliser to earn Tottenham a 2-all draw with Newcastle at St James' Park.

And Everton had a 1-nil win over Bournemouth.

 

League leaders Arsenal entertain Brentford at the Emirates Stadium tonight from half seven.

Three other games are underway at the same time, with Brighton at home to Aston Villa, Burnley up against Crystal Palace and Wolves play Nottingham Forest.

At a quarter past eight, Liverpool play Sunderland at Anfield and Chelsea make the trip to Elland Road to face Leeds United.

 

RUGBY

The draw for the pool stages of the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia will take place this morning.

It's due to get underway at 9 o'clock Irish time in Sydney.

Ireland will be among the top ranked teams in band one.


RACING

There’s a seven-race card in Dundalk this afternoon.

The first goes to post at 3:20pm.
