SOCCER
Liverpool returned to winning ways in the Champions League last night with a 1-nil victory over Inter Milan.

Elsewhere, Chelsea slumped to a 2-1 defeat to Atalanta while Tottenham enjoyed a 3-nil win at home to Slavia Prague.

Arsenal remain the only team with a 100-percent record in the Champions League and tonight they play Club Brugge.

The Belgian club parted company with manager Nicky Hayen in recent days.

Kick off is at 8pm.

Real Madrid play Manchester City at the same time.

In Germany, it's Bayern Leverkusen versus Newcastle while PSG play Athletic Club.

Two games are underway from 5.45 – Qarabag  face Ajax  and Villarreal go up against Copenhagen.


RUGBY

Mack Hansen looks set to miss Ireland's entire Six Nations campaign next Spring.

The Connacht winger has undergone surgery on a persistent foot injury, having struggled with the problem since the summer.

Connacht scrum coach Cullie Tucker confirmed yesterday that Hansen has already started his recovery but faces 'months' on the sidelines.

 

RACING

There's an eight-race card on the all-weather at Dundalk this afternoon.
