SOCCER

Gianni Infantino is holding crisis talks with key FIFA staff today in Morocco, as he fights to save his job.

The pressure on the head of world football has increased after development chief Arsene Wenger distanced himself from the president's failed private investment plan.

According to reports, senior FIFA staff met yesterday without Infantino, with all but one member opposed to Infantino's controversial proposal.

Arsenal have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle.

The Magpies captain is set to leave St James' Park for a reported fee of £75-million

Guimaraes' impending departure comes a week after the surprise exit of Eddie Howe as Newcastle manager.

Mo Salah is due to land in Turkey later to finalise a move to Trabzonspor.

The Egyptian is a free agent after leaving Liverpool, and has reportedly agreed a two-year deal with the Turkish outfit.

He had been linked with clubs in the MLS, and in Saudi Arabia.

Here at home, there's one game in the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division tonight.

Third-placed Shelbourne can keep the pressure on the top two with a win over bottoms side Cork City.

Kick-off at Tolka Park is at 7:45pm.

TENNIS

Carlos Alcaraz has pulled out of the Cincinnati Open due to start later this month, casting further doubt over whether he'll be able to defend his US Open title.

An ongoing wrist injury has forced the Spaniard to sit out another warm-up event.

The seven-time grand slam champion has not played since April, was unable to defend his French Open title and missed Wimbledon.

RACING

There's a seven-race card in Sligo today, with the first going to post at 5:30pm.
