Parrott spent the last two seasons at the Dutch outfit, scoring 51 goals and lifting the Dutch Cup back in April.

Shelbourne have moved level on points with Athlone Town at the top of the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division.

The Reds were 1-0 nil winners over Wexford at Tolka Park last night.

Athlone remain top only on goal difference, but could restore a 3-point lead at the summit this evening.

The league leaders are away at Peamount, where kick-off is at 7.45pm.

Celtic begin their bid to return to the Champions League tonight.

After missing out on the league phase last season, Martin O'Neill's side are at home for the first leg of their playoff against Austrian outfit LASK

Kick-off in Parkhead is at 8pm.

Bayern Munich and Germany midfielder Jamal Musiala has revealed he has been diagnosed with "treatable absence seizures"

The 23-year-old collapsed on the pitch during a friendly with RB Leipzig on Saturday, and suffered another episode during last night's game against Heidenheim.

Musiala took to Instagram to explain that it is his "personal wish" to keep playing "with the medical clearance of the neurologists"

TENNIS

Venus Williams has been handed a wildcard for the US Open, while sister Serena could still join her in the singles draw.

The 46-year-old, a two-time champion in New York, has been given direct entry into the season's final Grand Slam.

Serena returned to tennis earlier this summer after four years away, and could yet receive the last remaining wildcard.

The sisters could also receive wildcards for the women's doubles draw, they were beaten at the Cincinnati Open yesterday.

RACING
