Plymouth gunman believed to be culture follower
On Thursday, 12th August, 5 people were killed by gunman, Jake Davison in Plymouth, England.
The victims included Davison's 51 year-old mother, Maxine, 3 year old Sophie Martyn, & her father, Lee, 43, Stephen Washington, 59 & 66 year-old Kate Shepard, who died in hospital.
A 33 year-old woman & 53 year-old man were also injured in the shooting, before Mr. Davison turned the gun on himself.
Davidson, 22, appeared to be a follower of 'incel' culture.
According to Dr. Debbie Ging, Associate Professor at DCU's School of Communications, incel stands for involuntary celibate.
Dr. Ging added it is an online culture for men who are "sexually unsuccessful".
Jake Davison had previously referred to women as arrogant in an online video.
Dr. Ging joined Clem Ryan on this morning's 'Kildare Today':
