A number of top executives at the firm have reportedly been fired
Elon Musk has completed his $44 billion takeover of Twitter, according to US media and an investor in the company.
Musk has now changed his Twitter bio to read "Chief Twit".
While the company has yet to comment, multiple sources have reported that the billionaire now owns the social media platform.
A number of top executives at the firm have reportedly been fired, including the CEO and CFO.
This brings an end to the long running back-and-forth that saw Twitter go to court to hold Musk to the terms of the takeover deal when he tried to back out.
Trading of Twitter shares will be suspended from today according to the New York Stock Exchange’s website.
