New Russian sanctions expected to be announced
EU leaders are gathering in Brussels today to consider Europe's next steps on the war in Ukraine.
Fresh sanctions on Russia are expected to be announced at the European Council, which continues until tomorrow.
The Taoiseach will be among those attending, alongside US President Joe Biden.
NATO - which Ireland is not a member of - and G7 leaders also set to meet.
Fine Gael's European Affairs spokesperson, Neale Richmond, is sceptical any new sanctions on Russia will go far enough:
