Stormont Executive did not reform last night
Loyalist paramilitaries are warning Irish government ministers not to visit Northern Ireland.
The Loyalist Communities Council - a group who represents the UDA, UVF and Red Hand Commando - released a statement last night.
The letter warns of "dire consequences" if joint authority with Dublin were to be imposed.
This man in the Loyalist Sandy Row area in Belfast says he thinks there could be a return to violence:
Northern Ireland secretary, Chris Heaton-Harris, says he's 'extremely disappointed' a Stormont executive has not been reformed.
He also said he's no choice legally but to call an election, which is expected to be confirmed in the coming hours.
The opportunity to appoint ministers passed at one minute past midnight.
