Authorities assuming the infection is the Delta variant
New Zealand is entering another lockdown after it recorded its first community transmission case of Covid-19 since February.
A man has tested positive in Auckland.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said authorities were working on the assumption the infection is the Delta variant.
The city, and another area the male visited on the Coromandel Peninsula, are going into full lockdown for 7 days, and the remainder of the country for 3 days.
Residents will only be allowed leave their homes for exercise, medical supplies and the visiting of supermarkets.
