Covid-19 testing sites & vaccination centres closed
A heatwave in the north-western United States and Canada has forced the closure of schools, businesses, Covid-19 testing sites and mobile vaccination units.
Temperatures in some areas hit 46 degrees Celsius yesterday.
Canada recorded the highest ever temperature of 49.6 degrees Celsius, yesterday in the village of Lytton, British Columbia.
Over 230 deaths have been reported in the Canadian province.
In Vancouver, a city with thousands of Irish residents, over 65 sudden deaths have been reported since Friday.
