Oil Prices Dip Again As US-Iran Talks Progress

Oil prices have dipped again.

It follows further progress during talks between the US and Iran in Switzerland, aimed at ending the war.

The US Vice President says peace talks in Switzerland have laid the foundations for a permanent deal to end the war in Iran.

There had been fears the Iranians would walk out of discussions after Donald Trump threatened renewed bombings if they didn't rein in Hezbollah - their proxies in Lebanon.

But mediators Qatar and Pakistan say 'encouraging progress' was made in the talks, and JD Vance says such exchanges are to be expected.

A 60 day roadmap has been agreed to find the basis for lasting peace.

In Ireland, wholesale prices for all energy fuels rose by 37% in the 12 months to May.

The CSO says however fuel costs were down by 7.8% in May, compared to April.
