Follows fortnight of violence between Israel & Hamas
The US Secretary of State is to visit the Middle East this week following the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
Both sides exchanged fire for almost a fortnight.
President Joe Biden says Secretary Antony Blinken, will meet Israeli leaders and discuss what he calls America's "ironclad commitment" to the country's security.
At the request of President Biden, I am traveling to Jerusalem, Ramallah, Cairo, and Amman to meet with the parties to support their efforts to solidify a ceasefire. The United States has engaged in intensive diplomacy to bring an end to the hostilities and reduce tensions.

Mr Blinken will also try to "rebuild ties" with the Palestinian people.
