1,338 People In Hospital With Covid 19 Today

There are 1,338 people in hospital with the virus today, up 30 on yesterday.

There are 61 patients in ICU with the virus.

The INMO has called for the reintroduction of mask wearing in crowded and indoor settings.

The Tánaiste has warned procedures may have to be curtailed as hospitals deal with a surge in Covid cases.

However, Leo Varadkar says they’ve had no public health advice to make masks mandatory again or reintroduce restrictions.

Newbridge GP, Dr.Brendan O' Shea has told KFM there have been a number of patients presenting to surgeries with Covid- 19.

He believes people should continue to wear masks and practice social distancing.
