It comes as updates were requested for the bus stop
A Newbridge councillor has branded the delays for safety upgrades to a bus stop in the area as "disappointing".
It comes as updates were requested for the bus stop, a bus shelter and a pedestrian crossing at Toughers Bus Stop.
Bus driver Seán Conroy previously described the location as one of the busiest in the county, warning it is only a matter of time before an incident occurs and highlighted major accessibility difficulties for wheelchair users.
But following a motion at last month's Kildare/Newbridge MD meeting, KCC says "preliminary discussions have taken place" between the Councill
and the National Transport Authority.
Fine Gael Councillor Peggy O' Dwyer believes "there has been no movement" on the issue.
"This is a high speed, four-lane carriageway, really dangerous, no movement and it's really disappointing," she said on Kildare Today.
"This one is just so slow, and it's going to cost a huge amount of money.
"Last January we were on about the same problem and there's been no movement, we can just keep bringing it up and putting it on the progress report."
However, she was positive about updates at the Newhall (bundle of sticks) bus stop, with trees having been cut back to make it more visible to motorists, Cllr O'Dwyer remarking that "the whole bus stop will be upgraded".
"There is a new motor centre going in there, and part of their planning is that the whole bus stop will be upgraded," she concluded.
