Kildare County Council received 593 complaints relating to anti-social behaviour in 2023, compared to 305 in 2022, representing a 48.5% increase.
Anti-social behaviour is considered to be present when a person’s or a family’s behaviour adversely affects the quality of life of those living in a specific locality.
It can range from the sale and supply of drugs to violence, threats or intimidation.
The definition does not include vandalism or damage to property unless the damage is serious or used to intimidate or threaten.
It also does not include noise and nuisance or other activities.
