5 Kildare Schools Receive Funding For Sustainable Development Projects

The announcement was made by Minister Norma Foley

Minister for Education Norma Foley TD has announced the delivery of €550,000 in funding for sustainable development projects in schools.

The successful projects include new school gardens and outdoor classrooms, local air quality initiatives, wildlife walkways and poetry for climate action and climate justice.

The Kildare schools are as follows:

Gaelscoil Ruairí in Maynooth received almost €5,000 to develop its school garden and carry out workshops

Presentation Girls’ School in Maynooth got € 4,519 for compost bins, water butts and carry out workshops

Rathcoffey National School got € 5,000 for the development of an outdoor learning space

Scoil Bhríde in Kilcullen received € 5,000 to further develop its outdoor garden

Straffan National School also got € 5,000 for outdoor garden supplies and a rainwater harvesting system
