5,189 new cars were registered in the county
121,850 new cars were registered in 2023 nationally, compared to 105,398 for the same period in 2022, an increase of 17%.
In Kildare, 5,189 new cars were registered, 519 more than the year previous.
There was also a 48% increase in the number of electric vehicles registered in Kildare in 2023.
It jumped from 848 up to 1,258 in the space of 12 months.
