After Cork Pilot, INMO Calls For Gardaí In Every Hospital, Including Naas, To Protect Staff From Assaults

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation is calling for the initiative to be rolled out at every hospital around the country - incuding Naas General Hospital.

Gardaí have begun working shifts at a Cork hospital to tackle the rise in threats to staff.

A new pilot scheme has been rolled out at Mercy University Hospital to combat violence against health workers.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation is calling for the initiative to be rolled out at every hospital around the country - incuding Naas General Hospital.

They said around 12 healthcare staff are assaulted daily.

Liam Conway from the INMO says a price can’t be put on health care staff members' safety.
