A local councillor has appealed to people in relation to a hit-and-run involving a van that took place last week in Newbridge.
On Thursday, April 23, at approximately 4.50pm, a woman was standing at the side of the road beside her car when she was struck by a white van
A woman was struck by a van near Barrettstown Cemetery in Newbridge.
The driver of the white van failed to stop the vehicle after he hit and injured the woman.
According to the Irish Independent, the woman involved has thanked a passerby who stopped to help after several cars drove around her rather than stopping when she tried to flag them down.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Fine Gael Councillor for the Kildare-Newbridge municipal district Peggy O'Dwyer has appealed to the public for information:
"This is an awful accident that someone hit a young lady and left her at the side of the road, and I just want to express by best wishes to her in her recovery."
