Newbridge Motorist Caught Driving 40KM/H Above Speeding Limit

A checkpoint was carried out following complaints of speeding from local residents

Gardaí have detected a motorist driving at 104km/h in a 60km/h zone in Newbridge.

A checkpoint was carried out following complaints of speeding from local residents in Barretstown.

According to Gardaí in Kildare, residents are afraid to leave their own driveways because of the speeding motorists.

Other notable speeds recorded by Naas Roads Policing Unit included 86km/h and 97km/h.

Earlier this month, Gardaí also carried out speed checks in another area of Newbridge, where locals expressed "genuine fear" due to excessive speeding in the area.
