Gardaí in Newbridge have carried out speed checks in Newbridge following numerous complaints by residents.
A large number of motorists were detected exceeding the 50 km/h speed limit on Green road in the town, which is near Newbridge Educate Together and Gaelscoil Chill Dara.
One driver was detected travelling at 88 km/h.
Gardaí raised concerns on social media, describing the road as a "densely built-up residential area with a large school nearby".
They also cited the fact that there have been a number of serious collisions at this location, with Gardaí saying local residents have expressed "genuine fear" when attempting to exit onto the public road.
