Data on the number of public bins in the Clane-Maynooth Municipal District is being compiled by Kildare County Council.

Speaking on Kildare Today, he said there should be more public bins "to meet people where they are" and prevent littering.

He said the data will ultimately inform if locals are properly provisioned.
