Lelia Doolan, the Irish film producer and activist, is to reach Monasterevin today as part of her Walk for Peace.
At 91 years of age, Ms Doolan started on March 31st from Shannon Airport and has been on the road now for ten days.
Now, half way through her walk, Ms Doolan is expecting a big welcome from Kildare as she crosses the border.
She will be in Newbridge on Saturday, Naas on Sunday and onwards towards Dublin where she hopes to reach the Dáil by 15th April.
She has called on the Taoiseach and government ministers to meet her on her arrival to answer questions about the use of Shannon Airport by US military planes since 1981, and the alleged breaches of international law happening there.
Ms Doolan will cover a distance of over 220km.
Stops remaining along the route include Monasterevin, Newbridge, Naas, Rathcoole and Dublin.
