Irish Water is up-scaling Ballymore Eustace Water Treatment Plant.

Irish Water is to conduct an assessment of the impact of a Kildare up-grade project on water supplies to 830,000 people in the Greater Dublin Area.

The firm is planning to refurbish Ballymore Eustace Water Treatment Plant, which is Ireland's largest such facility.

Treated water is conveyed from Ballymore Eustace to Saggart via two trunk mains, namely the Liffey Aqueduct and a 1,600mm pre-stressed concrete pipeline.

Irish Water is tendering the contract for condition assessment surveys along 25 kilometre of pre-stressed concrete main, and the 9 kilometre  steel sections of the aqueduct

The tender says the surveys "will locate leak locations, identifying joint failure and the condition of the internal liner. The surveys will also identify individual wire break locations, pipe wall reduction and locations of sedimentation in the trunkmain. "

The deadline for response is May 25th.
