Works planned for 14 calendar days on the the L2032
An Athgarvan road will close at the end of November, to facilitate Irish Water, during the installation of pipework.
The L2032, from the R416 Junction, Athgarvan crossroads, to the R413 near Athgarvan school will close.
Kildare County Council note the works are planned for “14 calendar days” & advance notification of the start date will be provided.
The road will remain closed for the duration of the works, which are expected to be completed by the 27th January, 2023.
The council has outlined alternative routes available:
“Vehicles travelling Southwest will be redirected at Athgarvan Crossroads to the R416 to Kinneagh Cross. Traffic will then be redirected to R413 towards the Curragh to finish at the junction to the L2032.
Vehicles travelling Northeast will be redirected to the R413 towards Kinneagh Cross. Traffic will be directed at Kinneagh Cross to the R416 towards Athgarvan and finish at Athgarvan Crossroads.
Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Síochána. Emergency access and restricted local access will be maintained.”
KCC notes roads will reopen if works are completed early.
The council also added any “objections/observations should be lodged in writing to the A/Senior Executive Officer, Roads, Transportation and Public Safety, Kildare County Council, Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co Kildare or by e-mail to roadssubmissions@kildarecoco.ie on or before 5:00 p.m. on Monday, 7 November 2022.”
