A ballistic examination is being carried out on a weapon found at the Eyre Powell Hotel in Newbridge on Friday afternoon.
A source at the hotel told Kfm that the weapon, found in an attic space, is believed to be a BB Gun and not an actual handgun.
They said they are not sure if the weapon is recent or if it has been there for years.
