A Defence Forces bomb disposal team has completed an operation near Silliot Hill Recycling Centre in Kilcullen, following the discovery of suspected historic ordnance.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was called in by Gardaí this afternoon.
Historic ordnance refers to military weapons, ammunition, artillery, from past historical eras.

A stretch of road on the R448 between Kilcullen and Naas was closed earlier today due to the inspection taking place.
Following an assessment, it was confirmed that no explosive material was present.
The operation concluded at around quarter to nine tonight.
