Enfield will benefit from the redevelopment of a former parish hall into a multipurpose community space.
In a bid to combat dereliction and vacancy in rural areas, the Government has unveiled a funding injection of over €4.5 million.
The initiative falls under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme and targets the redevelopment of 24 old and derelict buildings for 21st-century community use.
The diverse range of structures slated for transformation includes former garda stations, schools, post offices, parish halls, restaurants, public houses, and vacant sites.
Among the 24 projects set to receive funding, Enfield will benefit from the redevelopment of a former parish hall into a multipurpose community space.
The list also includes diverse projects such as converting a former national school in Ballyroan, Co. Laois, into a multi-purpose community venue and repurposing a former garda barracks in Bellacorrick, Co. Mayo, for use as a community hub, gym, and remote working space.
