Fine Gael Councillor for Clane-Maynooth MD has stepped down from his role.
He has said it has become "almost impossible to find the time necessary to meet the ever increasing demands" of the role.
He has been involved in local politics for eight years, and will resign in September this year.
Cllr Wyse, living in Allenwood, has served the Clane LEA over the last number of years.
His full statement is as follows:
In recent months, despite my best efforts, it has become almost impossible to find the time necessary to meet the ever increasing demands of the councillor role to the level that I would like.
So, today, I formally notified Kildare County Council that I will be resigning as an elected member for the Clane LEA on September 30th 2026.
I would like first and foremost to thank my family for never giving up on me, and for their unwavering support throughout the past 8 years. I am looking forward to spending more time with them now.
I wish continued success to the community groups and volunteers who selflessly dedicate their free time to improving their local area for the benefit of everyone. I enjoyed working with you the most.
My sincere gratitude to my Fine Gael colleagues behind the scenes at branch and constituency levels, the team in headquarters, and all those who worked on the ground with me.
My thanks also to my fellow public representatives, whom I always found a pleasure to deal
with, especially those in the Clane Maynooth MD.
